GFPA Aviation and Space Camp 2016

The planning and execution of the 2016 GFPA Aviation and Space camp is well on track, and we are now all counting down to the 19th of March, less than a month to go!!!The acceptance letters to all 120 selected campers are in the post and down the digital matrix - look out and pack your bags for this 5 day fun-filled adventure of a lifetime!!!
The 2016 GFPA Aviation and Space camp is a highly technical experience, with a focus on promoting and encouraging the learners to pursue careers in the fields of science, technology, engineering and maths ("STEM") education.

Theme: - Soaring to new horizons!!!

The theme of the 2016 GFPA Aviation and Space camp is soaring to new horizons. We have no doubt that new horizons will be explored by the 120 girls; 10 little campers; 30-strong team of volunteers, mentors and SAWIA executives (both local and international); facilitators at the Paramount camp.

Girl Fly Programme in Africa 2016 Aviation & Space Camp

SAWIA will be hosting the GFPA's annual Aviation & Space Camp for 150 learners from 19 - 24 March 2016 Magalies RetreatThe camp is a 6-day aviation and lifeskills experience, open to learners from Grade 8 to 12. The programme covers basic aviation and space courses, lifeskills training, outdoor and team-building activities and much more.

GFPA 2016 Aviation & Space Camp: volunteer positions available

SAWIA's Girl Fly Programme in Africa Foundation (GFPA) 2016 Aviation & Space Camp needs volunteers to fill the positions of planning committee & provincial coordinators. 

GFPA is an educational programme for both primary and high school learners, particularly girls, with an interest in the aviation and aerospace industry, and any other science, technology, engineering and mathematics-related (STEM education) careers.

GFPA is looking for 5 volunteers to join the 2016 Aviation & Space Camp planning team. You need to have transport - there is no salary or allowance for the position.

The skills required are: project management and general administration; marketing, social media and graphic design; and communication and fundraising. 

We are also looking for 9 coordinators from each province to assist us in distribution, collecting forms and logistical support for campers, and point of contact for selected campers.
